We want church to be a place where your entire family is encouraged to draw closer to Christ—kids and parents too! That's why we offer fun and engaging environments where children can learn and grow in faith. All of our kids' programs are designed to be safe places where children can learn new and exciting things about God while being led and cared for by adult volunteers from our congregation. It's our hope to encourage children to not only discover new things about God, but also begin to understand how those things matter in their own lives. We also understand that parents are the primary influence in a child’s faith formation. This is why we provide resources to help parents bring what kids are learning at church to life at home.
South Campus— Children's Church, Jam and Little Jammers are meeting during worship! Families will check-in in the lobby at the registration table and receive their nametags and parent receipts. Little Jammers - our infants and toddlers should go to their rooms before worship. Our Jam (preschoolers-K) and Children's Church (1st-5th) should have a seat in the sanctuary with their family. After the opening worship music, those age groups of children will be dismissed to their groups. Parents are also welcome to use our new Family Care Room located behind the welcome desk if your child gets a little antsy during the service. The service is live-streamed in that room.
High Street—During the school year, Sunday school classes meet following the worship service in the Youth Activities Center at Cox Memorial Hall from 10:15 to 11:15 AM. Children in 5th grade and younger are invited. All children are welcome to attend the worship service with their families. The sights and sounds of children are common and definitely welcome. We do have a newly renovated childcare room available for parents to use as needed during the worship service if their child gets a little antsy during worship. It's stocked with toys and supplies and is near the restrooms.

Opening the door for a family journey into God's Word.
This milestone program marks the beginning of a child's journey into scripture as guided and led by their parents. Children will learn Bible basics and will work with their parents to read and study scripture. Parents will be given resources and tips on leading their family in regular Bible reading and study. Families who complete the program will create a custom sign at Board & Brush and children will be presented with their own Bible. The cost is $30 per child and includes the sign, Bible, and session material. All third and fourth graders are invited to participate. CLICK HERE to sign up today.
Compassion INternational Sponsorship
Our children and youth groups at New McKendree have sponsored Jackline Agrey from Tanzania through Compassion International since June 20, 2011 - just over 11 years! That's over $5000 of financial support that has helped her and her family receive spiritual nourishment, food, healthcare, education, clothes, school supplies and so much more. We have written countless letters back and forth over the years. We share scripture and prayer requests. Please pray for her when you see this and consider making a financial donation so we can continue to support her until she graduates the program.
Our children and youth Sunday school classes currently have the opportunity to give weekly. Children at South Campus can give at the a special offering table with Jackline's picture on it!
If you would like to make a contribution to support Jackline's sponsorship, you can make a check to New McKendree UMC with "Jackline" in the memo line or you can CLICK HERE to use PushPay at this special link.
