A Month of Celebrations For many of us, the month of August is like a mini January 1st. A chance to look back over the last school year at how God has moved in our own lives and in our church. It’s also a chance to look forward to the year ahead, evaluating our routines, daily rhythms, and goals. This year, for our church, it is also a time of celebration as we approach the one-year mark for our United Discipleship Hour.

One goal that our ministry team has set for this new year is to focus on spiritual habits that help us grow closer to God. For the next three months, that spiritual habit is spending time with others. Throughout August, we will celebrate one another and encourage everyone to find a place to connect, grow spiritually through godly relationships, and be in community with others. Below is a list of upcoming celebrations, events, and recognitions:

August 3rd   -   Recognition of those who have been married 50+ years. Contact the church office if you have a wedding photo, or email it to                                                           children@newmckendree.org.  We’d love to share it as part of the recognition.

August 10th -  Recognition of the patriarchs and matriarchs of our church family (90+ years of age)

August 17th - Blessing of the Backpacks for Children & Youth, Recognition of teachers and school personnel, and All Church Picnic

August 24th -  Recognition of our 50+ year members in our church family

August 31st - Spirit Sunday - wear something that represents your school colors, favorite sports team, or special music group.
