Border Journey Weekend

In the summer of 2023, 17 New McKendree servants traveled to the US/Mexico border in South Texas for a week-long service-learning trip. Through their experience, God has called our church to continue and expand the ministry and mission work at the border. Our Border Ministry Team has put together a weekend experience to help shed light on the complexity of the border crisis and to understand the vision of our partner ministry, Border Perspective.

Border Exhibit & Immigration 101 - Saturday, December 2nd, 10:00 AM – noon New McKendree South Campus

Come and experience the border without leaving Jackson. Come take a journey into life and ministry on the border, where you will see and experience a firsthand perspective of the U.S. & Mexico border from people who live there. Through this interactive exhibit, you will step into the true story of the border and learn about the real need and how the local church is stepping in to welcome and embrace peoples’ needs from a holistic approach. You will also learn key definitions, and start to understand the reality of an asylum seeker's journey.

Border Perspective Story - New McKendree Church – All Worship Services December 2/3.

Caroline Quintero and Jenn Moya, two of the Border Perspective Staff, will travel from the border and join us for worship. They will share, their testimony, the history and heart of Border Perspective, and the opportunity for New McKendree's ministry at the border. Their passion, God's amazing provision, and His calling in their life are evident and transformative. You do not want to miss their story.
